Writing Solutions For Netrepreneurs Part II
Finding Your Writing Voice
An interesting thing happens whenever I read something that catapults my thought processes. As I read I can clearly hear the voice of the author in my head even though I’ve never physically heard their voice before. It has happened many times and has been verified when I finally do actually hear their voice..they sound the same as they did in my head.
What is this phenomenon and even more important how do I get you -who’s reading this right now- to mentally hear my voice?
Is it simply the words I choose along with the way I put them together or is there more to it?
Many advisors in this field have already said you must write about something you’re passionate about. For instance:
- If you’re not into that particular subject…
- If you don’t get excited just thinking about it…
- If it’s not something you frequently keep up to date with…
- If it’s not something you can’t wait to tell someone about…
Then where will you the words along with the way you’ll put them come from?
- Will it come from advanced Google searching…
- Will it come from PLR articles…
- Will it come from advanced plageurism…
- Or will it come from your mother…
None of these will do if doesn’t come totally from YOU…how can a reader hear your voice if the words aren’t yours?
So here’s what you need to do:
- Choose a subject you’re really into -everyone has something they’re really into…
- Write it down using the words and phrases you would use to tell your best friend about it and…
- Edit it just enough to where it’s readable and acceptible to the guidelines of the service you’re publishing it to -DON’T EDIT IT AS THOUGH AN ENGLISH PROFESSOR WILL BE READING IT or youmay come across as boring and stuck-up.
Did you hear my voice just then? Good…now stay tuned for Part III of this post by subscribing to the Netrepreneurs feed and if you missed Part I here’s a recap of Writing Solutions For Netrepreneurs.

Take a recent success story from a blogger you may be familiar with – Skellie
With over 2500 subscribers (1,050 in only three months), Skellie has quickly established herself as a key figure in the productivity, blogging, and make money online niche, largely due to her spectacular guest posts on several high profile blogs including ProBlogger. Here’s what she had to say on the matter:
My Blog Income Strategy by John Chow
Every time I post a new recording breaking earning reports, there will be comments and speculations on how high the blog income can go. I really like the one comment that took my 1 year blog income growth and extended it for another year and concluded that I’ll be at $300,000 a month by January 2009. While that would be really great, the reality is it can’t happen with the current setup of the blog.
How High Can It Really Go?
The mistake new readers make when they read that the blog went from zero to $30K in a bit over a year is assuming the blog looked the same back then as it does today. I had Unique Blog Design give this blog a complete makeover back in September so I can accommodate more private advertising.
Today, private advertising accounts for half of the blog income. All the ad spots are almost always completely sold out so there is really is no way to increase that unless I add more ad spots or increase prices. This blog is pretty ad heavy as it is so adding more ad spots really isn’t an option. Also, it would require another blog redesign to do it. Increasing ad prices will be the most likely course moving forward. However, I doubt I can increase prices enough to make $300K a month…
