Writing Solutions For Netrepreneurs Part II

Finding Your Writing Voice

An interesting thing happens whenever I read something that catapults my thought processes. As I read I can clearly hear the voice of the author in my head even though I’ve never physically heard their voice before. It has happened many times and has been verified when I finally do actually hear their voice..they sound the same as they did in my head.

What is this phenomenon and even more important how do I get you -who’s reading this right now- to mentally hear my voice?

Is it simply the words I choose along with the way I put them together or is there more to it?

Many advisors in this field have already said you must write about something you’re passionate about. For instance:

  • If you’re not into that particular subject…
  • If you don’t get excited just thinking about it…
  • If it’s not something you frequently keep up to date with…
  • If it’s not something you can’t wait to tell someone about…

Then where will you the words along with the way you’ll put them come from?

  • Will it come from advanced Google searching…
  • Will it come from PLR articles…
  • Will it come from advanced plageurism…
  • Or will it come from your mother…

None of these will do if doesn’t come totally from YOU…how can a reader hear your voice if the words aren’t yours?

So here’s what you need to do:

  1. Choose a subject you’re really into -everyone has something they’re really into…
  2. Write it down using the words and phrases you would use to tell your best friend about it and…
  3. Edit it just enough to where it’s readable and acceptible to the guidelines of the service you’re publishing it to -DON’T EDIT IT AS THOUGH AN ENGLISH PROFESSOR WILL BE READING IT or youmay come across as boring and stuck-up.

Did you hear my voice just then? Good…now stay tuned for Part III of this post by subscribing to the Netrepreneurs feed and if you missed Part I here’s a recap of Writing Solutions For Netrepreneurs.

Images are the Natural Evolution of Search

Over the past couple years it has been impossible to avoid the buzz about images and their increasing role in search; such as universal search which is becoming commonplace among the major search engines. But universal search is only the most prevalent news and only the baby-steps of a new format of search that is about to take over the Internet. Do I have your interest piqued? I will now lay the foundation of my statement to hopefully get you as excited as I am about this unstoppable search evolution.

Pinging For Traffic

I noticed spikes in traffic from implementing a very simple technique called pinging.

A ping is basically a notification to all the major blog networks that you have just updated your site with new content -usually a new blog post. Since the major networks are being viewed by thousands of eyeballs everyday there’s a high likelihood that you’ll get a few unique visitors to check out your new content. The most popular services are at Pingomatic.com or Pingoat.com where you enter a URL along with its title and then select the particular networks you want to be notified.

Most bloggers will just enter their website address, select all of the networks, then call it a day. However,I decided to a few extra miles:

  1. Submit the URL of the actual new post along with the exact title of that new post instead of merely the main website address
  2. Gain some knowledge on the various networks availablein order to know the right ones to select because some may not fit the category of your particular content
  3. Then submit your main website address along with the title of your entire site
  4. Next repeat the above three steps except this time you would submit the URLs to search engines like Google’s free site submission and Yahoo’s free link submission. Addme.com will submit your URLs to 14 search engines at a time also for free.

Within a few days to a few weeks you’ll see an increase in traffic…sometimes you see it an a matter of hours. Of course,to maximize the potential of thisyou can always use paid submission services.

If you would like to learn more about pinging then you really should read the My Blog And Ping Tutorial and remember: “The one who pings all things is on his way to being a traffic king!”

Writing Solutions For Netrepreneurs

First of all let me give you a bit background. In elementary school some of my favorite Tv shows were Knoghtrider and Airwolf -which was basically the helicopter version of Knight Rider. I liked these shows so much that i started making little booklets containing my own versions of episodes I wished they had produced.

SIDENOTE: Wishing for things never brought satisfaction for me…even as a child I sought ways to make what was in my imagination real.

I role-plated the whole wished episode both mentally and physically. Then I took a regular piece of notebook paper, turned it sideways in a rectangular position and folded it in half;thus, making every notebook page into two booklet pages. On each half I wrote the segments of the episode until it was finished. I wrote the dialogue of the characters, drew pictures on some of the pages illustrating the dialogue, and everything…all this in elementary school! My classmates and teachers were amazed at this.

Around this same time I also wrote alot of poetry, especially for girls.

SIDENOTE: It didn’t work then and it won’t work now,so don’t ever write a girl a poem thinking she’ll like you more…she will only end up clowning you and telling all her friends how lame you are.

Toward middle school i really got into rapping -a natural extension from poetry. I would see a story in my mind and then just spit it out verbally making every two sentences rhyme in sync with a beat which was usually supplied by a volunteer beat-boxer. Putting it on paper was easy. While in Theatre Arts,we competed with other schools by acting out scripts and I used to win superior trophies -the highest you could get- using acting scripts Iwrote myself. A few years later,I had a stint as a minister and of course every sermon I did I wrote myself. Actually this was kinda like rapping except the words didn’t rhyme.

Taking all this into account, one might say I was a natural born writer. Well how come when blogging hit big,all of a sudden I caught writer’s block!?!? All of my prvious experiences was filled with me blogging -just without the internet. Whether it was poetry, theatre arts script writing, rapping,or sermonizing I was actually blogging my thoughts.

O.k. so-called Netrepreneur breathe slow…focus…what formula was I using to do all that blogging?

  1. I wished for something -usually a change in some area of physical reality that needed improvement
  2. Acted it out clearly in my mind
  3. Wrote down exactly what I saw and heard in my mind in the order that I saw and heard it
  4. Edited it to make sure it flowed accordingly, then
  5. Let people see and hear it to get feedback

Hmmm…is the above NOT the job of a true Netrepreneur: to improve an area of reality in a senseful manne allowing others to put their two cents in? After all,is NOT this the web2.0 social era for interNet entrepreneurs???

Unsubscribing Decisions

I am beginning to unsubscribe from many of the email lists I’ve been on. Why…mainly because I keep getting the same offers from all these different subscriptions. It makes no sense to be on all these when I could just be on one main list in that particular niche and get the same info anyway.

Another reason is that even when I do get different offers it’s hectic trying to keep up because I’ve already signed up with previous offers that I’m trying to push, yet I want to promote the new ones as well!

Talk about “information overload” and “biting more than you can chew.”

The best thing to do decrease the amount of offers and info I’m receiving. My main criteria for doing this is:

  1. Am I learning anything from this guy?
  2. How easy is it to get in touch?
  3. and Am I constantly getting the same offers I get from everybody else?

So goodbye Mike Filsaime…goodbye Richard Madison…and good riddance to Ron and Rick Davies. Although these guys provided a little info here and there when I first signed up with them,I graduated from that and need upgraded info. That’s why I’m sticking with Willie Crawford…I’m sticking with the three Johns(Reese,Chow, and Cow)…and I don’t think I’ll ever leave Conversion Tactics from the guys at MindValley Labs.

    No Man Is An Island

Many times we as successful people get into the habit of saying “I” alot and we pat ourselves on the back when we attain certain goals. But is it “I” who truly deserves to be thanked?

Let’s take for example internet marketing. I knew next to nothing about it when I first started out. While doing a Google search around late 2003 I came stumbled across an ad saying I could make money without my own product or a website. I’d simply promote one of their already successful products using their sales material and they would split the profits with me. Thus, began my launch into affiliate marketing.

I also found a service that would email my sales message to a large email list of people who already had an interest in what I had to offer.

-SIDENOTE: Of course this was before SPAM laws got tite

To my surprise,I actually made a few sales so then it was on! Too bad that particular affiliate offer turned out to be trash.

Nevertheless, further studies made me realize I had to have my own website, but I didn’t know anybody in that field and even if I did I had no funds to hire them plus I didn’t even have a computer.

-SIDENOTE: I used the local college campus computers and the workers there used to clown me because I put in more hours than them

I searched the web for hours and days at a time to learn as much as I could. Finally,I built my first site and even taught myself all those tedious HTML code changes. Boy was I proud of ME…although sales were less than desireable.

I tried Google adwords and went broker than I already was…still nothing. “Build it and they will come” was the naive belief I had back then. After all,I had put in so many long hours at this thing being self-taught while everyone I was reading about obviously already had capital to spend big on advertising and seminars.

-SIDENOTE: I still have yet to go to an internet marketing seminar

    But what was I missing?

I wasn’t interacting with others in internet marketing…I wasn’t interacting with potential customers through forums and other sites…I wasn’t even building a list! True wealth -as I ended up learning through spiritual studies- is a cooperative effort. No billionaire got there solely all by himself. Their wealth came from investing into and with 100′s even 1,000′s of other people whether it was with or without their knowledge.

My point: they had to socialize with certain “communities”.

Why? Because no man is an island. Those other people in those communities are the ones who deserved to be patted on the back. Nowadays in this web2.0 era all we hear about are the many “communties” we can join which has allowed many small-timers to explode their sales. This would not have been possible for someone with small budget, small knowledge, and BIG ego to accomplish. My new belief quickly changed to: if you start socializing with internet communities, then they will come! Just remember No Man Is An Island.

If you liked this article you are sure to like Escaping The Matrix and if you’re looking for a great community join the Online Shopping community…Enjoy.

How Do They Track You? Let Us Count the Ways

In my article in Monday’s Times, “To Aim Ads, Web Is Keeping Closer Eye on What You Click,” I worked with comScore to develop a new measure for Web companies: how much data they can collect from users.

On the Internet, companies are typically ranked by how many different people visit their sites in a given month. And when Microsoft announced its $41 billion bid for Yahoo, comScore and Nielsen Online promptly put out estimates counting how many people would be in the merged company’s total audience.

But audience size is not everything in the online world. Advertisers increasingly want media companies to find their most likely customers and show their ads only to those people, rather than to the site’s entire audience.

Such targeted advertising requires data, so there’s a good argument to be made that we can spot the companies that will lead the pack in online advertising by looking at the depth of data that large media companies can collect about each of their Web visitor. Here is some more detail about the methodology comScore and I came up with:
